Review of all aspect of product label, including name of the product, ingredients, allergens, nutrition information, nutrition and health claims, country of origin, multilingual content, wording, pictorial representation, mandatory signs and symbols etc.


Nutrition and health claims

These claims are reffering to relationship between food, food category or a food substance which have beneficial nutritional properties on body  or on health.

Regulated with Regulation 1924/2006 on nutrition and health claims made on foods.


Nutrition Claims

Low fat, high fiber, low carb, source of vitamins/minerals. When can you claim these? Does your product meet the criteria?

Health Claims

A few product have permitted health claims that may be made on the label. Find out if your product meets the requirements and if your product can have a claim on the label.

There is regulation frame based on which they can be used. Pre-market approval is often necessary and can vary in countries.

Advertizing and promotion of product with health claims is also regulated  and monitored.

Nutrition information: so far this was voluntary information. However, with new regulation in force, this piece of information will be mandatory on the label.
